Warm, caramelized kiwi dessert topped with a simple buttery crumble.

Ingredients

  • 6 kiwis, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup melted butter, plus 1 tbsp for the baking dish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 370°F and lightly butter an 8x8-inch baking dish.
  2. Toss the sliced kiwi with lime juice, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt, cornstarch, and water until evenly coated, then let it sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Mix the flour, sugar, and melted butter in a bowl until small crumbly pieces form, about 2 minutes.
  4. Spread the kiwi mixture in the prepared baking dish and drizzle or dot with the extra melted butter.
  5. Scatter the crumble evenly over the fruit so the surface is fully covered.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes, until the top is golden and the filling is bubbling at the edges.
  7. Cool for 10 minutes, then serve warm with ice cream or on its own.
