Warm kiwi crumble with spiced fruit filling and buttery crumb topping.

Ingredients

  • 6 kiwis, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 1 tbsp melted butter, for the baking dish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 370°F and lightly grease an 8-inch baking dish with the 1 tablespoon melted butter.
  2. Toss the sliced kiwi with lime juice, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt, cornstarch, and water until evenly coated.
  3. Let the fruit sit for 5 minutes so the juices start to thicken slightly.
  4. Mix the flour, sugar, and melted butter in a bowl until small crumbly pieces form.
  5. Spread the kiwi mixture evenly in the baking dish, then sprinkle the crumble topping over the fruit in an even layer.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes, until the top is golden and the filling is bubbling at the edges.
  7. Cool for 10 minutes before serving warm, ideally with ice cream.
