Ingredients
- 1 sleeve (approx. 30 crackers) ritz crackers
- 225g (1 cup) unsalted butter
- 200g (1 cup) packed light brown sugar
- 300g (2 cup) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup peanut butter m&ms
- 1/2 cup pretzels, crushed
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- Arrange the Ritz crackers in a single, tight layer across the bottom of the prepared sheet.
- Combine the butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, bringing to a boil for 3 minutes until thickened.
- Pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the crackers, tilting the pan to ensure full coverage.
- Bake for 5 minutes, then remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot surface.
- Return to the oven for 1-2 minutes to soften the chocolate, then use a spatula to spread it into an even layer.
- Top immediately with M&Ms, crushed pretzels, and nuts while the chocolate is still melted.
- Cool completely at room temperature, then chill in the freezer for 20 minutes before breaking into shards.
