Fresh shucked oysters topped with a smoky mezcal-infused tomato cocktail sauce and zesty horseradish kick.

Ingredients

  • 12 fresh oysters, shucked
  • 1/2 cup tomato juice
  • 2 tbsp mezcal
  • 1 tbsp prepared horseradish
  • 1 tsp hot sauce (e.g., tabasco)
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp celery salt

Instructions

  1. Whisk together tomato juice, mezcal, horseradish, hot sauce, lemon juice, and celery salt in a small bowl until well combined.
  2. Place the shucked oysters on a bed of crushed ice to keep them stable and cold.
  3. Spoon approximately 1 teaspoon of the Bloody Mary mixture over each shucked oyster.
  4. Serve immediately while the oysters are chilled.
