Miso Butter Braised Cabbage Rolls by Jamievespamsrd
Tender cabbage rolls filled with savory gingery chicken and rice, braised in a rich miso butter sauce.

Ingredients
- 1 large head green cabbage
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 cup cooked long-grain white rice
- 1/2 cup green onion, thinly sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp tamari
- 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp white miso paste
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil and blanch cabbage leaves for 2-3 minutes until pliable; drain and set aside to cool.
- In a medium bowl, combine ground chicken, cooked rice, half of the green onions, garlic, ginger, 1 tbsp tamari, and sesame oil.
- Place 2-3 tablespoons of filling onto each cabbage leaf, fold in the sides, and roll tightly to secure
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat, then whisk in miso paste, broth, lemon juice, and remaining tamari until smooth.
- Place cabbage rolls seam-side down in the skillet and simmer covered for 20-25 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
- Remove lid, spoon sauce over the rolls, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to thicken the sauce slightly before serving.
