Honey-Chipotle Salmon Tacos with Garlic-Lime Crema by Jamievespamsrd

Smoky, sweet broiled salmon tacos paired with a vibrant cabbage slaw and zesty garlic-lime crema.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb salmon
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 2 chipotles in adobo, minced
  • 1 tbsp adobo sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp tamari
  • 3 cup red cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 garlic clove, grated
  • 6 small tortillas
  • 1 medium avocado, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your broiler to high.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the minced chipotles, adobo sauce, honey, tamari, and avocado oil. Brush this mixture over the salmon fillet
  3. Place the salmon on a baking sheet and broil for 8 minutes, or until the edges are caramelized and the salmon is cooked through and flaky.
  4. While the salmon broils, toss the shredded red cabbage with cilantro and the juice of 1 lime in a medium bowl
  5. In a separate small bowl, combine the sour cream, grated garlic, and the juice of the second lime to create the crema.
  6. Warm the tortillas in a dry pan or directly over a low gas flame for 30 seconds per side.
  7. Assemble the tacos by flaking the salmon into the tortillas and topping with the cabbage slaw, sliced avocado, and a drizzle of the garlic-lime crema.
