Chocolate Chip Cookie Fries by Iramsfoodstory

Deliciously fun chocolate chip cookie fries baked to golden perfection and ready to be enjoyed.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (100g) light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (67g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temp
  • 1 egg yolk, room temp
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cup (180g) all purpose flour, spooned and leveled
  • 1 tsp corn starch
  • 1 tsp espresso powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp flakey sea salt
  • 1 cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, espresso powder, baking soda, and salt
  3. In another bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture; whisk for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, folding until just combined; do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  7. Transfer all the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet and flatten into a 1/2-inch thick rectangle.
  8. Freeze the flattened dough until firm, about 20-30 minutes.
  9. Cut the firm dough into long fry shapes using a sharp knife or bench scraper
  10. Separate the fries slightly so they are not touching.
  11. Freeze again for 30 minutes to help them hold their shape.
  12. Place no more than 4 cookie fries on a baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
  13. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 13 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden and centers are set.
  14. Let cool completely on the baking sheet before serving.
