Fudgy Banana Bread Brownies by Hopeandhummus

Ingredients
- 2 large ripe bananas (about 1 cup mashed)
- 1/2 cup almond butter (or cashew butter)
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup cacao powder (unsweetened)
- 2 tbsp coconut flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp fine sea salt
- 1/3 cup dairy-free chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Mash bananas thoroughly in a large bowl until smooth with no large lumps.
- Stir in almond butter, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Add cacao powder, coconut flour, baking soda, and salt; mix until a thick, uniform batter forms.
- Fold in chocolate chips, then pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Scatter extra chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 22–26 minutes until the edges are set and the center looks just barely done — it will firm up as it cools.
- Cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes before slicing into 9 squares. For cleanest cuts, refrigerate 30 minutes first.
