Air Fryer Salmon by Good Food
Perfectly cooked salmon fillets with a simple herb crust, prepared quickly in the air fryer.
Serves: 4Prep: 5 minsCook: 8-10 mins
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (approx. 130g/4.5oz each), skin on or removed
- ½ tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp mixed dried herbs
- 1 tsp garlic granules (optional)
- to serve cooked seasonal greens (e.g., asparagus, broccoli)
- to serve grains such as quinoa or brown rice
Instructions
- In a small bowl, thoroughly combine the salt, black pepper, mixed dried herbs, and garlic granules (if using). Spread this seasoning mixture evenly onto a flat plate or shallow dish.
- Lightly rub each salmon fillet with olive oil, ensuring both sides are coated. Then, carefully roll each fillet in the seasoning mixture, pressing gently to make sure it adheres well and covers the fish.
- Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 3-5 minutes, if your model requires preheating. Arrange the seasoned salmon fillets in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not overlap for even cooking.
- Cook the salmon in the preheated air fryer for 8-10 minutes. For thicker fillets (larger than 130g), you may need to cook longer. Check for doneness after 10 minutes; the salmon should be opaque throughout and flake easily with a fork. If needed, continue cooking in 1-2 minute increments until cooked through.
- Carefully remove the cooked salmon from the air fryer. Serve immediately with your choice of cooked seasonal greens and grains like quinoa or brown rice for a complete and healthy meal.
