Creamy Bang Bang Chicken by Genio Easy Recipes

Crispy fried chicken tossed in a creamy, spicy, and sweet sauce served over steamed rice.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sake
  • 1 tbsp mirin
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup thai sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup potato starch
  • 1 tbsp oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken pieces with soy sauce, sake, mirin, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, salt, pepper, and egg white for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Cook combine mayonnaise, thai sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and lemon juice in a bowl for the sauce over medium heat.
  3. Cook coat the marinated chicken pieces evenly with potato starch over medium heat.
  4. Heat oil in a wok or deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the chicken in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Drain excess oil from the fried chicken
  7. Toss the fried chicken into the prepared sauce until well coated.
  8. Serve immediately with hot steamed rice
