Ingredients
- 0.5 cup milk
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 3.33 cup all-purpose flour
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
- 1.5 tsp salt
- 0.75 cup plain yogurt
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Stir together lukewarm milk, sugar, and yeast in a small jug; let stand for 15 minutes until foamy.
- Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Whisk the yogurt and egg together in a separate bowl
- Add the activated yeast mixture and the yogurt-egg mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring with a fork until a sticky dough forms.
- Adjust consistency by adding small amounts of milk if too dry, or flour if too soft.
- Gently knead the dough by hand until it forms a cohesive, rough ball.
- Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and a tea towel; let proof in a warm spot for 2 hours until doubled in size.
