Ingredients

  • 450g (16 oz) extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1.5 tbsp maple syrup
  • 0.5 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.25 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Press the block of extra-firm tofu for at least 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut into desired cubes or triangles.
  2. Whisk the marinade ingredients together in a bowl or directly in a large resealable bag.
  3. Place the cubed tofu into the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well-coated, and seal the bag or container.
  4. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight for deeper flavor penetration.
  5. Cook the tofu using your preferred method—baked at 200°C (400°F) for 25 minutes or pan-seared over medium-high heat until golden brown and crispy.
