Serves: 4Prep: 15 minCook: 15 min
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs (680g) ground beef (80/20)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 slices American or provolone cheese
- 4 brioche burger buns
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
Instructions
- Combine ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl, then divide into 4 equal portions and form into patties about 3/4-inch thick, pressing a slight indent in the center of each.
- Heat olive oil in a cast iron skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat until shimmering, about 2 minutes.
- Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side until a deep brown crust forms; place a slice of cheese on each patty in the last minute of cooking and cover with a lid to melt.
- While burgers cook, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat, add minced garlic, and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
- Remove garlic butter from heat and stir in grated Parmesan, parsley, and red pepper flakes until a cohesive sauce forms.
- Dip each assembled cheeseburger patty (or the whole assembled burger) into the garlic Parmesan butter, spooning extra sauce over the top to coat generously.
- Toast buns cut-side down in the residual pan drippings for 1–2 minutes until golden, then assemble burgers and serve immediately.
