Crispy pan-fried chicken thighs coated in a sticky, sweet-spicy honey lemon garlic sauce.
Serves: 2Prep: 10 minCook: 20 min
Ingredients
- 3 chicken thighs
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp cornstarch (or flour)
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2.5 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1.5 tsp chili flakes
- Sesame seeds, to garnish
- 2 green onions, sliced, to garnish
Instructions
- Season the chicken thighs all over with salt and pepper, then dust evenly with cornstarch, shaking off any excess.
- Heat a drizzle of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and pan-fry for 6–8 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and stir for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the soy sauce, honey, lemon zest, paprika, and chilli flakes to the pan. Stir to combine and simmer for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and turns sticky.
- Return the chicken to the pan and toss to coat thoroughly in the sauce, cooking for 1–2 minutes until heated through and well glazed.
- Plate the chicken and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onion. Bonus: continue reducing any remaining sauce in the pan until it reaches a thick, jam-like consistency, then spoon over the top before serving.
