Ingredients
- 1 (170g / 6 oz) steak, thinly sliced
- 150g egg noodles
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt & chili seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 3 tbsp light soy sauce
- 4 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 2 tsp chopped garlic
- 1 tsp ginger puree
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp tomato puree
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Season the sliced steak with salt, pepper, paprika, salt & chili seasoning, and garlic powder. Toss to coat evenly
- Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook according to package directions, typically 3-5 minutes, until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the light soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, chopped garlic, ginger puree, honey, and tomato puree to create the sauce. Set aside.
- Heat butter in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned steak and sear for 2-3 minutes per side, until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove steak from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the sliced onion to the same skillet and sauté for 3-5 minutes, until softened and lightly caramelized. If needed, add a splash of water to deglaze the pan.
- Return the cooked steak to the skillet with the onions. Add the drained egg noodles and pour the prepared sweet chili garlic sauce over everything. Toss well to combine and coat the noodles and steak evenly, cooking for 1-2 minutes until heated through.
- Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds.
