Hot Honey Sausage Pasta by Foodbyfranchi

Savory sausage pasta with a sweet and spicy kick, finished in a creamy tomato sauce.

Ingredients

  • 190g pasta
  • 6 hot honey sausages (or regular sausages)
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • 170ml single cream
  • 1 tbsp hot honey
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp italian herbs
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes
  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  2. Remove the sausage casings and brown the meat in a large pan with 1 tsp olive oil over medium-high heat until cooked through, about 5-6 minutes.
  3. Add the diced onion to the pan with the sausage and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in the chopped garlic, smoked paprika, Italian herbs, and chili flakes, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Mix in the tomato puree and hot honey, stirring to coat the sausage mixture evenly
  6. Reduce heat to low and pour in the single cream, simmering for 2-3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
  7. Drain the cooked pasta and toss it directly into the sauce, coating thoroughly before serving
