Warm browned butter cookie skillet featuring a soft, chewy center packed with melted chocolate chips.

Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup browned butter, cooled slightly
  • 0.33 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg, room temperature
  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.125 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a small 6-inch cast-iron skillet.
  2. Whisk the cooled browned butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar in a medium bowl until smooth.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, whisking until well combined and creamy.
  4. Fold in the flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Fold in half of the chocolate chips, then transfer the dough into the prepared skillet, smoothing the top
  6. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips and sprinkles over the top of the dough.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set but still soft.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving warm.
