Ingredients

  • 225g (1 cup) browned butter, cooled
  • 135g (2/3 cup) granulated sugar
  • 200g (1 cup) light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • 315g (2 1/2 cup) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 200g (1 cup) mixed chocolate chips (mini, milk, wafers, and toblerone)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 10-inch cast-iron skillet with butter.
  2. Whisk the cooled browned butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, whisking until fully combined and slightly aerated.
  4. Fold in the flour, baking soda, and salt using a spatula until just combined; do not overmix.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Press the cookie dough into the prepared skillet, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake for 35 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set but still soft.
  8. Cool for 10 minutes before serving warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream.
