Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup browned butter, cooled slightly
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk the cooled brown butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl until smooth and combined.
  3. Add the room temperature egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, whisking until fully incorporated.
  4. Fold in the flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined, being careful not to overmix the dough.
  5. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.
  7. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
