Homemade Turbinado Vanilla Syrup by Ethanrodecoffee

Rich, caramelized vanilla syrup made with turbinado sugar for deeper flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups turbinado sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 big pinch of salt
  • 1 heaping tbsp vanilla bean extract

Instructions

  1. Combine 2 cups turbinado sugar, 1 cup water, and a big pinch of salt in a small saucepan over medium-high heat.
  2. Stir occasionally and bring the mixture to a full boil, cooking until the turbinado sugar has completely dissolved, about 5–7 minutes.
  3. Turn off the heat and immediately stir in 1 heaping tablespoon of vanilla bean extract.
  4. Let the syrup cool for 10–15 minutes until just warm, then pour into a glass bottle or jar.
  5. Store in the refrigerator for up to one month.
