Crispy, golden-fried cheese strips served with a tangy, garlic-infused mayonnaise and ketchup dipping sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pack (approx. 225g/8 oz) queso de freir (frying cheese)
  • 2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise (for dipping sauce)
  • 1 tbsp ketchup (for dipping sauce)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder (for dipping sauce)

Instructions

  1. Cut the Queso de Freir into thick, uniform strips lengthwise.
  2. Pat the cheese strips thoroughly with paper towels to remove moisture and prevent oil splattering.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C), or until bubbles form around a wooden spoon handle.
  4. Fry the cheese strips in batches for 30-60 seconds per side until they are golden brown.
  5. Remove the cheese from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  6. Whisk together the mayonnaise, ketchup, and garlic powder in a small bowl until smooth.
  7. Serve the warm, crispy cheese immediately with the prepared dipping sauce.
