Homemade Mayonnaise by Elizabethwu

Creamy emulsion of olive oil and egg seasoned with tangy dijon mustard and savory MSG.

Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tsp dijon mustard
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp msg
Instructions
- Place the egg, olive oil, dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and MSG into a blender jar or tall cup designed for an immersion blender.
- Insert the immersion blender to the bottom of the container.
- Blend on high speed, keeping the blender at the base until the mixture begins to emulsify and turn thick and white.
- Slowly pull the blender upward through the mixture over 10-15 seconds until all oil is incorporated and the mayonnaise is smooth.
- Transfer to a clean jar and store in the refrigerator.
