Ingredients
- 340g (12 oz) fresh ahi tuna filet
- 2 tbsp black sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp roasted sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1/2 lime, juiced
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Combine the black and roasted sesame seeds on a shallow plate, mixing them together until evenly distributed.
- Press all sides of the ahi tuna filet firmly into the sesame seed mixture to create an even crust until ready to serve.
- Heat the sesame oil in a non-stick skillet over high heat until shimmering, about 1 minute.
- Sear the tuna for 60-90 seconds per side, ensuring the crust is golden and the center remains rare.
- Whisk together the soy sauce, lime juice, and water in a small bowl to create the dipping sauce over medium heat until heated through, about 5 min.
- Slice the tuna into 1/2-inch thick pieces and serve immediately with the prepared sauce until ready to serve.
