Dense, fudgy chocolate brownies with a crackly top and deep cocoa flavor.

Serves: 12Prep: 15 minCook: 25 min

Ingredients

  • 225g (1 cup) unsalted butter, melted
  • 400g (2 cup) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 65g (1/2 cup) all-purpose flour
  • 60g (1/2 cup) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 100g (1/2 cup) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and line an 8x8 inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk the melted butter and sugar together in a large bowl until smooth, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, whisking until fully combined and slightly lightened in color.
  4. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt, folding gently with a spatula until just combined to avoid overmixing.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips, then pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.
  7. Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack for at least 1 hour before slicing into squares.
