Ivorian Fried Fish with Attiéké and Alloco by Cuisineivoirienne Et Dailleurs

Crispy fried fish served with steamed cassava semolina and sweet, golden-fried ripe plantains.

Ingredients
- 2 whole tilapia or sea bream (approx. 400g each), cleaned
- 300g attiéké (fermented cassava semolina)
- 3 ripe plantains, peeled and sliced into chunks
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 500ml vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Season the cleaned fish with salt, pepper, and minced garlic; let marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan to 180°C (350°F).
- Fry the plantain chunks in batches for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and tender, then drain on paper towels.
- Fry the seasoned fish in the same oil for 8-10 minutes per side until the skin is crispy and the meat is opaque.
- Steam the attiéké in a microwave or steamer for 3-5 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Serve the hot fried fish alongside the warm attiéké and fried plantains until ready to serve.
