Turkey Provolone Sourdough Melt by Cristiiicarrillo

Crispy toasted sourdough sandwich layered with savory turkey, melted provolone, and fresh garden vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 200g (7 oz) deli turkey breast, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 4 leaves romaine lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced

Instructions

  1. Spread butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
  2. Place two bread slices, butter-side down, in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Layer each slice with two pieces of provolone cheese and half the turkey, cooking for 3-4 minutes until the bread is golden brown and cheese begins to melt.
  4. Remove from heat and spread mayonnaise and mustard on the un-toasted sides of the remaining bread slices.
  5. Top the sandwiches with lettuce and tomato slices, then close with the reserved bread slices.
  6. Slice in half and serve immediately while warm.
