Ingredients
- 2 large honeycrisp apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup white granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp apple pie spice
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 1/4 cup milk (for glaze)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
- 4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, apple pie spice, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Add 1/3 cup milk and eggs to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined and slightly lumpy.
- Fold the diced apples gently into the batter until evenly distributed.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Scoop portions of batter into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove fritters with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, 1/4 cup milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl to create the glaze.
- Drizzle the glaze over the warm fritters and serve on a wire rack.
