Steamed Pork Belly with Black Beans by Couldeattbh

Tender pork belly and absorbent fried tofu steamed in a savory, umami-rich fermented black bean sauce.

Ingredients
- 1.5 lb pork belly, sliced into bite-sized pieces
- 200g (7 oz) fried tofu, cubed
- 2 tbsp fermented black beans, rinsed and roughly chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp shaoxing wine
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp neutral oil
Instructions
- Combine sliced pork belly, fermented black beans, minced garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, shaoxing wine, sugar, cornstarch, and oil in a large bowl.
- Mix thoroughly until the pork is evenly coated in the marinade and let sit for 10 minutes.
- Arrange the cubed fried tofu in an even layer at the bottom of a heat-proof steaming dish.
- Spread the marinated pork belly evenly over the top of the tofu.
- Place the dish into a steamer set over boiling water, cover, and steam for 15 minutes until the pork is tender and cooked through.
- Remove carefully from the steamer and serve hot.
