Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 0.25 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 2 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: In a small bowl, whisk together softened cream cheese, condensed milk, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth; transfer to a piping bag and chill.
  2. Make the dough: Bring water, butter, sugar, and salt to a boil in a medium saucepan
  3. Add flour: Remove from heat, stir in flour until a ball forms, then let cool for 5 minutes.
  4. Finish dough: Beat in the egg and vanilla until the dough is smooth and glossy.
  5. Pipe and fry: Pipe dough into 4-inch strips into 350°F oil and fry for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Coat and fill: Roll warm churros in cinnamon sugar, then use a filler tool to inject the cheesecake cream into the center.
