Baked Chicken Parmesan Pasta by Chloegebacz

Tender chicken and pasta baked in a rich marinara sauce with melted mozzarella and parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

  • 450g (1 lb) penne or rigatoni pasta
  • 500g (1.1 lb) chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 700g (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 200g (2 cup) mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 50g (1/2 cup) parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, about 8-10 minutes, then drain.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chicken pieces until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir the marinara sauce, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper into the skillet with the chicken, simmering for 2 minutes.
  5. Combine the cooked pasta and chicken-sauce mixture in a large baking dish until ready to serve.
  6. Top evenly with shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan cheese until ready to serve.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
