Seared steak and succulent shrimp served over seasoned rice with creamy avocado and fresh salsa.

Ingredients

  • 150g (5 oz) sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 100g (3.5 oz) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup cooked white rice
  • 1/2 cup black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 avocado, sliced
  • 1/4 cup pico de gallo or salsa
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp taco seasoning

Instructions

  1. Season the steak pieces with half of the taco seasoning until ready to serve.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked to your preference; remove from pan and set aside.
  4. Add the shrimp to the same skillet, sprinkle with remaining seasoning, and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque.
  5. Assemble the bowl by placing the cooked rice at the bottom until ready to serve.
  6. Top with the black beans, seared steak, cooked shrimp, sliced avocado, and a generous spoonful of salsa until ready to serve.
