Homemade Fluffy Butter Naan by Camcancoook

Soft, fluffy leavened flatbread enriched with creamy yogurt and brushed with a rich melted butter finish.

Ingredients
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 cup warm water
- 3 cup all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup plain whole milk yogurt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 0.5 tbsp salt
- 4 tbsp melted butter
- 1/2 tsp salt (for finishing)
Instructions
- Whisk active dry yeast, sugar, and 1/2 cup warm water in a bowl; let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
- Combine yeast mixture, flour, yogurt, remaining 1/2 cup warm water, olive oil, and salt in a bowl.
- Knead the mixture by hand or stand mixer until cohesive and slightly sticky, about 5-8 minutes.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for at least 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface, fold 4-5 times, form into a ball, and divide into 6-8 equal portions
- Roll each portion into a circle, rotating 90 degrees every few rolls to maintain shape.
- Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat; place dough in pan and cook until large bubbles form.
- Flip and cook the other side until lightly charred, then remove and brush immediately with melted butter and a sprinkle of salt.
