Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies by Bromabakery

Ingredients
- 170g (3/4 cup) unsalted butter
- 200g (1 cup) light brown sugar, packed
- 50g (1/4 cup) white granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 220g (1 3/4 cup) all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 340g (2 cup) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until it bubbles and turns a deep golden brown, about 5-8 minutes.
- Remove butter from heat, stir in brown and white sugars until combined, then let cool slightly.
- Whisk in the whole egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Fold in flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined, then stir in chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough into 2oz balls, place on a tray, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake cookies for 11-12 minutes until edges are set.
- Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt while warm.
