Ingredients

  • 225g (0.5 lb) italian sausage
  • 225g (0.5 lb) ground beef
  • 450g (1 lb) spaghetti pasta
  • 795g (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cup (950 ml) chicken broth
  • 1 medium onion, minced
  • 1 medium bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp chicken bouillon
  • 1 tbsp italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic and herb seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Brown the Italian sausage and ground beef in a large pot or deep skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it into small pieces with a spoon, then drain excess grease.
  2. Add minced onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the pot, cooking for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, garlic and herb seasoning, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
  4. Add the dry spaghetti, chicken broth, chicken bouillon, and sugar to the pot, ensuring the pasta is submerged in the liquid.
  5. Cover with a lid and bring to a light boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent the pasta from sticking to the bottom.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with grated parmesan cheese and fresh parsley before serving.
