Easy Weeknight San Choy Bao by Beabeabeatherese
Quick, flavorful, and carb-free Asian-style lettuce wrap featuring savory ground pork and fresh crunchy vegetables.

Ingredients
- 500g ground pork
- 1 large onion, finely diced
- 2 medium carrots, finely diced
- 100g shiitake mushrooms, finely diced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp white pepper
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 2 green onion, sliced
- 1 head iceberg or butter lettuce, leaves separated
Instructions
- Heat a wok over high heat and brown the ground pork until fully cooked through; remove from the wok and set aside.
- Add the onion, carrots, and shiitake mushrooms to the hot wok and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Add the minced ginger and garlic to the vegetables and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Return the cooked pork to the wok and toss to combine with the vegetables.
- Season the mixture with Shaoxing wine, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, salt, and white pepper, stirring well for 2 minutes to coat.
- Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced spring onions.
- Serve immediately by spooning the mixture into fresh lettuce cups.
