Brown Butter Rice Krispie Treats by Ashiashome

Crisped rice cereal squares bound in a rich, nutty browned butter and melted marshmallow mixture.

Ingredients
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter
- 10 oz marshmallows
- 6 cup crisped rice cereal
- 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
- 0.25 tsp sea salt
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until it foams and turns golden brown with a nutty aroma, about 5-7 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low and add marshmallows, stirring continuously until completely melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat immediately and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
- Fold in the rice cereal until fully coated with the marshmallow mixture.
- Press the mixture gently into a greased 9x9 inch pan using a buttered spatula.
- Allow to cool at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before slicing into squares.
