- 1 kg (2.2 lbs) granny smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 150g (3/4 cup) granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice

- 2 disks prepared pie crust

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Toss the sliced apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a large bowl until evenly coated.

- Pour the apple mixture into the crust and dot the top with the cubed butter.
- Cover with the second crust, trim the edges, and crimp to seal; cut a few slits in the top for steam to escape.
- Brush the top crust with the beaten egg and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
