Beef, Onion, Mushroom & Havarti Sandwich by Alex Trim 1

Ground beef, caramelized mushrooms, and melted Havarti cheese served on toasted flatbread with barbecue sauce.

Ingredients
- 0.5 lb ground beef
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 0.5 cup red onion, sliced
- 0.25 cup barbecue sauce
- 2 tbsp green onion, chopped
- 4 slices havarti cheese
- 2 flatbreads
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and brown the ground beef until crispy, about 5-7 minutes; remove beef from the pan and set aside.
- Add sliced mushrooms and red onions to the same pan and sauté until caramelized and tender, about 5-8 minutes.
- Return the cooked beef to the pan, stir in the barbecue sauce and chopped green onions, and cook for 1 minute until heated through.
- Assemble the sandwich by placing the beef mixture and Havarti cheese slices between two flatbreads.
- Pan-sear the sandwich in the same skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side until the flatbread is golden and the cheese is melted.
